| 内容記述 | Fifteen years have passed since the Bank of Japan Act was revised in 1997. The sophistication of the Act itself is now on par with world standards. Yet during the 15 years since its revision, the Bank of Japan has borne the brunt of various criticisms, some of which point to the need to review the Act. This study takes a historical look back on the revision of the Bank of Japan Act from political and economic aspects, and concludes that the success or otherwise of the inclusivee political and economic reform serving as the background of the Act’s revision or, above all, the establishment of a reform philosophy, had an impact on the evaluation of Japanese central banking system reform. In discussing the Bank of Japan system, it is important to bear in mind the philosophy of political and economic reform that is the backdrop of the current Bank of Japan Act. |
