In order to consider\npurely the form of commodities and the value of commodities, we\nneed to presuppose the relation of reciprocally independent owners of\ncommodities that are divorced from the process of production, like trading\nnations, who exist in the interstices between communities.\nPrivate owners divorced from the process of production have to use\ntheir property not for the exchange to obtain the objects of their desire,\nbut as the resources to keep living in the interstices.
