 note = {本論文ではカール・マルクスとミハイル・バフチンの言語観を高校英語教育に応用することを試みている。彼らの言語観では、言語とはその話者の属するコミュニティの文化やイデオロギーと切り離して身につけられるものではない。本研究は主にバフチンが生涯をかけ構築した理論であるポリフォニー論と対話原理に基づいている。彼が打ち出したこれらの理論によると、対話に参加する人々は個々の違いを保つことによって「共に豊饒化する」（Emerson and Holquist，1986）。つまり、我々は自身の「他者性」（Bakhtin，1929）を保つことで対話の中で自分のことをより良く理解できるということである。英語教育に彼らの言語観やバフチンの理論を応用するには、生徒らは自分自身の「声」（Holquist，1981）を持ち、そして「他者」としていなければならない。授業実践では参加者らにあるエッセイ「世界がもし100 人の村だったら」（Ikeda，2001）を読ませ、感想を別の参加者と交流させた。参加者は交流後に自身の感想や意見をワークシートに記述し、筆者がその内容を分析した。分析の結果、主に二種類の豊饒化、「対話を通して改めて自分のことを理解することができた豊饒化」と、「対話を通して新たな観点・視点を得られた豊饒化」が観測された。結果として、実践参加者らはエッセイの内容に関する交流や自分自身の環境に対する理解を通して、他者の視点を「我がものとする」ことによって豊饒化したと言える。, This paper attempts to adapt Marx and Bakhtin’s view of language to English education in high school. According to their view of language, language cannot be learned without the culture and ideology of one’s community. This study is mainly based on Polyphony and Dialogism, which have been established through Bakhtin’s life. On the basis of his concept, the people in conversation get “mutually enriched”（Emerson and Holquist, 1986）by keeping their diff erences. In other words, we can understand ourselves better by talking with people who keep their “otherness”（Bakhtin, 1929）. In order to apply their view of language and Bakhtin’s concept to English education, the students need to have their own “voice”（Holquist, 1981）and to be “others” to their peers. The author had the participants of the praxis read an essay “If the world were a village of 100 people”（Ikeda, 2001） and exchange their thoughts with another participant. They wrote their feeling and thought on a worksheet after the interaction and the author analyzed their description. After the analysis, two sorts of enrichment, “recognizing oneself through dialogue” and “appropriating new viewpoints or perspectives through dialogue” were found in this praxis.
